Got a question for the next round of ASK MATTY, then post your question HERE
1) What was the reasoning behind leaving the Wind Raider Pilot out of the Fighting Foe Men multi-pack, especially since the Wind Raider is the only vehicle we currently have in MOTUC?
He was not a model kit driver.
2) In Scott’s (Toyguru) video and his commentary in RGD#94, he states that a plan is all figured out for 2014 to get 12 monthly figures, strategic multi-packs touching on key players from PoP and NA, plus con items and non-sub items, PLUS a special plan to get Filmation characters on top of that. This was his main selling point to investing in 2013, it was his “promise” to us in 2014. Yet, he has recently stated that 2014 will offer less than 2013 and might even be reduced to 6 figures. What happened to this plan?
That plan was contingent on getting subscription numbers for 2013 that were close to 2012′s numbers. Because we were so much lower (just above the bare min) we may not get enough slots in 2014 to cover everyone. But we will still stay true to our word an “throw out” the roadmap and concentrate on making every slot we can get in 2014 count.
3) Just wondering about the watchmen Rorschach……and if it will have a ab crunch and how flexible the legs will be because of his jacket?
He uses the Question “suit” buck which does limit some articulation based on design.
4) In the Batman Unlimited line, why are we getting just such crappy choices like Injustice & Zur-En-Arrh, instead of Batman characters fans have been screaming for line Huntress, Alfred, Oracle, or Commissioner Gordon? This is just another slap in the face from Mattel.
The characters you mentioned are much more likely to be in the online collector club. Zur-En-Arrh Batman is a fun colorful, version of Batman that would work well for retail. Kids don’t know who Huntress is and that makes it hard to include her in a retail line in today’s market. But this is exactly why we have CIE – to deliver the fan demanded figures collectors want!
Editor’s Note: I call bullshit on this answer.
5) We’ve seen 4 members of the new 52 Justice League. We will see the remaining members? Green Lantern, Aquaman, & Cyborg.
Time will tell.

I don’t care for the Injustice Batman figure,But I have wanted a Batman of Zurr-En-Arr for a long time now. Thanks Mattel for doing that.Maybe/hopefully we will get some of the others listed in the question.
Was the answer just a repeat of the question? That was what was printed. If that was the case, then yes that was BS.
Okay,I see it’s fixed now.Kids don’t know Huntress, who was in BATB,in the new Lego game,in JLU? Now that’s BS Mattel.
I doubt the CIE sub lasts another year anyway.I did not and will not buy one.EVER.
Well,on the Batman Unlimited question,I would rather we got comic accurate Batman variants. You know we are going to get Batman variants anyway,so why complain about them.I,for one,am personally happy we are finally getting a Batman of Zurr-En-Arrh,even if it is a modern one.Would have liked to have gotten both classic and modern, but oh well.
As long as they are comic(maybe a few movie/cartoon) accurate,I say bring them on.
Now as far as that Injustice Batman is concerned….well don’t care for it so much. The video game figures should be in their own line.
Kids are more likely to want a red and purple Batman or an armoured Batman than they are a butler, a middle aged man in a coat and a young woman in a wheelchair. I really don’t see how you can “call bullshit” on that.
Huntress would probably stand a better chance, but even then she’s only appeared in about 3 out of 65 Brave and the Bold episodes, and is only one of 50 unlockable characters in the new Lego Batman game. She’s yet to be front and centre of a DC cartoon, film or video game.
Huntress would pegwarm hard after the collectors brought her because kids don’t like female characters. Mattel has gotten burned on obscure female characters at retail before, which is probably why they have that attitude.
I work in retail, I can promise that Zur-En-Arrh would sell better than Huntress, with the only exception being scalpers. It might be a weird variant, but it’s close to normal and comes with a second figure, Huntress is a girl and you’d be utterly shocked to see how often parents literally REFUSE to buy girl figures for their boys, even if the child asked for the figure. The only minor exception is Star Wars, but even then, Asohka sells better to collectors and girls, who, sadly, are less plentiful than they appear
Mattel’s logic might seem crazy, but in this case, it’s actually true
