Adventure Time fans, rejoice! Your favorite female characters showcased in one adorable mini-series. OHMYGLOB!
We all know Adventure Time is for kids, and that is precisely who this comic book is aimed at, but come on. Adventure Time is one of the best kid’s shows I’ve ever seen. However, the same can’t be said for this comic.
Adventure Time: Marceline and the Scream Queens follows Marceline and Princess Bubblegum on tour with their band. In this issue, Marceline gets a bad review and goes postal. As per usual, Marceline is adorable, hot-headed, and full of herself. Princess Bubblegum is sweet and wants to spare Marceline the hard feelings of the bad review.
Even though my two favorite AT characters are the focus, I just couldn’t get into the story. The art is sloppy and the writing is bland. The highlight of this issue is the Lemongrab side-comic, which made me smile so hard that my face hurt.
For children and those with short attention spans, this comic book is perfect. But as a whole, I’d rather watch the actual show.
In the end, I have to say that this comic is UNACCEPTABLE.
